Be in solidarity with DC communities

Dear member of Congress:
DC is home to 700,000 residents but they don’t have a single voting member in Congress. Meaning, there is no one to advocate on their behalf – so your support is needed.
President Trump declared that he’s taking over the Metropolitan D.C. police and sending the National Guard into the city, but his claims that there is “rising violence in the capital” are false. In fact, violent offenses fell after reaching highs in 2023 but in 2024, they hit their lowest levels in 30 years.
That’s why we’re calling on you to stop freezing DC’s local budget, stop trying to overturn DC laws through the federal budget process and with standalone bills and to do everything within your power to stand down the National Guard and stop the redirection of DC’s local police department.

Why is this important?
The data is clear, Washington, DC has seen a sizable decrease in crime and is at a 30-year violent crime low.
The federal takeover of DC is unprecedented and unwarranted.
Take action by telling your member of Congress to do everything in their power to stand down federal law enforcement, stand down the National Guard, and stop the redirection of DC’s local police department.
